Richland Library proudly announces the return of Read Freely Fest, scheduled for March 27–29, 2026, at Richland Library Main (1431 Assembly St., Columbia, SC 29201). The free, three-day festival brings a beloved tradition back to the Midlands, offering an immersive experience that connects readers, writers, and book lovers in a vibrant celebration of stories.

Read Freely Fest is designed for everyone—from lifelong readers and aspiring writers to families seeking engaging activities. The event celebrates storytelling through author talks, live performances, and interactive programming, creating an inclusive space where literature and culture intersect. Read Freely Fest is more than just a book festival—it’s where stories find good company.

The 2026 festival will feature an exciting headliner lineup. In addition to headline authors, the event will spotlight indie creators, local voices, and diverse programming designed to engage audiences of all ages.
